Cattle Operations Manager

Responsible for supervision, planning and control of the company’s Livestock operations from reproduction through harvest. Livestock operations include but are not limited to beef cattle and sheep. Expectations for this role include proper animal husbandry, pasture management/stewardship, infrastructure maintenance, strategies for maximum yield, and machinery and equipment maintenance, and harvest/post-harvest processes/controls. The livestock manager is also responsible for general departmental organization, staff supervision, and adherence to maintaining standards for safe, high-quality meats raised in an environmentally sustainable manner. 5 years of livestock related experience required. College Degree in related field or life sciences preferred. Basic knowledge of cow calf and finishing cattle operations. Knowledge and experience with administering products for proper animal health. Ability to manage proper pasture rotations. Experience with fence repair and water system installation and repair. Knowledge of post-harvest processing and product retail. Some supervisory experience preferred. Good Horseback skill desired. Ability to manage assets, equipment, and labor. Ability to adhere to a general budget. Must be willing to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. Many activities require some physical labor. Open availability to include weekends and holidays.  Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
