Education Programs Guide

Part Time

Responsible for leading age/grade level appropriate tours and activities in Kualoa's Education department.  Activities and lessons will combine Kualoa Ranch history, Hawaiian culture and environment education.

Leads educational and group experiences.  Plans and creates lesson plans that support the program curriculum.  Assists with research and evaluation of program curriculum.  Assists with maintenance and upkeep of campus, including weedwhacking, working in a lo'i, moderate tree trimming and feeding and handling animals.

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

Great communication skills, positive and professional attitude. High school diploma or equivalent required. Two years of experience working with children in an educational setting.  Experience in group facilitation, curriculum, lesson planning, and team building with various age groups.  Knowledge of and ability to teach topics related to Hawaiian culture and language, sustainability and environmental awareness.  Ability to meet the physical demands of caring for animals, conducting landscape maintenance, hiking, farming, canoe paddling, etc.  Valid drivers license and good driving record.  Open availability to include weekends and holidays.
