FAQs

Planning an exciting experience with us? You may have a question or two. If you don’t find the answer to your question below, please contact us and we’ll be happy to answer all your questions.

Cancellation Policy

  • Q. What is the cancellation policy?

    A. Please call 808-237-7321 at least 48 hours notice before the tour, or scheduled pick up time, to avoid a full charge penalty.
  • Q. If it rains will the tours still go out?

    A. The safety of our guests is our number priority and any adverse weather conditions are taken into consideration.  Generally, unless there are high winds or lightning threatening (which happens very infrequently) our  tours go out rain or shine. Kualoa Ranch reserves the right to cancel a tour or reservation if conditions are deemed unsafe. If we do so, we will refund your money for the portion that may have been cancelled. Some tours, such as the ATV tours, are actually preferred by many guests in rainy weather and when it rains you’ll probably be able to see many beautiful waterfalls in our iconic mountain peaks. If you are on island and have any questions about weather or anything else, you can always call into Kualoa Reservations at 808-237-7321 from 7am til 5:30pm daily.

Horseback ATV

  • Q. Can my child, who does not meet the age requirements, ride with me on either a Horseback or ATV tour?

    A. Unfortunately, this is not allowable due to safety concerns. Each rider must meet all of the restrictions. Our new Multi Passenger ATV Raptors can accommodate children 5 years and older with adults.  There are several “infant” and child friendly tours available though … Our Secret Island Beach Activities option is a great place to enjoy Hawaii on a secluded beach for adults and children alike.  You can also take infants on the Ocean Adventure Tour, the Taste of Kualoa Farm Tour, and the Hollywood Movie Sites Tour. Children 5 and over are allowed on all of the above guided tours, plus the Raptor Tour, and the Jurassic Jungle Jeep Adventure. Children 10 years of age and older are allowed on all of the above tours as well as the Horseback Guided Tours, the electric Mountain Bike tours (if they’re at least 4ft 6inches in height, and the Zipline (as long as they’re 70 pounds or heavier). Teenagers 16 years and older are allowed on all of the above tours as well as the single passenger ATV’s. Besides our tours, there are several FREE activities to do while waiting for others on a tour.  We have a Farm Animal exhibit near the visitors waiting area, there are lots of horses to pet, there is a Hawaiian History Hall mini-museum, our Judd Theatre with a history of Kualoa short video, Aunty Pat’s Cafe, our Visitor Center Gift Shop and even a Sculpture Garden to stroll through.
  • Q. Is packing/doubling allowed on Horseback or ATVs?

    A. Packing/doubling are not allowed on these tours. Our equipment accommodates one person per Horse/ATV. Our new Multi Passenger ATV Raptors can accommodate children 5 years and older with adults.
  • Q. Are there any tours without guides?

    A. All of our activities are guided tours. Touring our 4000 acre Private Nature Reserve is our passion!  We strive to teach a little Hawaiian History, Paniolo (cowboy) history and Kualoa Movie History in each tour and your guide will provide this experience.

KUALOA SHUTTLE TRANSPORTATION TO and FROM WAIKIKI HOTELS – (only $30 pp roundtrip)

  • Q. Do you offer transportation to Kualoa from Waikiki Hotels?

    A.  Unfortunately, due to the current covid restrictions, we do not offer any motor coach transportation options from Waikiki to Kualoa Ranch. We recommend renting a car for one day as you can usually find a car for less than $50 if booked in advance.  You can make a day of it and continue driving up to the North Shore for dinner after your day at Kualoa and then return to your hotel in Waikiki or Ko’olina. Uber and Lyft rates will vary depending on the time of day but will usually run from about $60-$90 one way from Waikiki and  higher from Ko’olina.
  • Q. What are the locations for Waikiki transportation pick up?

    A.  Unfortunately due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, we are unable to offer any transportation options from Waikiki or Ko’olina hotels to Kualoa.
  • Q. Do I need to make reservations for any of the tours?

    A. Yes, because all Kualoa tours are guided and limited by our high standards and appropriate “guide to guest” ratios, reservations are highly recommended.  Many tours have limited availability and will sell out during the week.  We also have a lot less tours to offer due to covid required spacing of guests, as well as adding more time between tours for vehicle and equipment sanitization procedures. If you’re planning to do the Zipline, ATV’s, Raptors or Premier Movie Site Tour, please book as far ahead as possible as there is limited availability year round and these tours usually will sell out 2-3 weeks in advance. For all other tours, we highly recommend making a reservation at least 3-4 days in advance as most tours do sell out within the week. Please call to book at 808-237-7321 or book online.
  • Q. How far in advance should we make reservations?

    A. Several tours are very popular and sell out 2-3 weeks in advance most times of the year (especially the Jurassic Valley Zipline, ATV, Raptor and Premier Movie Site Tour). For most other tours, at least two or three days in advance is recommended for a choice of the best times.  Summer months are especially busy for all tours, as well as holiday periods. You can always check online for last minute cancellations that may popup, and we also do accept last minute and same day reservations over the phone (808-237-7321).   Walk-ins are also accepted based on availability, and for some frequently sold out tours (Zipline, ATV, Raptor and Premier Movie Site Tour) we can take your name for a waitlist.
  • Q. Once a multi tour package is reserved online, when are activities chosen?

    A. All Kualoa Multi-Tour Packages are pre-set ahead of time and include the best combinations of tours that we recommend, which will also allow you to see the most of our 4000 acre paradise.

There are four different “all-inclusive” Kualoa packages to choose from.
