Kualoa Ranch Education Programs offer learning initiatives for children that explore the rich history of Hakipuʻu, Kualoa, and Kaʻaʻawa. These programs emphasize the significance of natural resource management, culturally based practices, and food sustainability.
Kualoa Ranch is committed to the principles of education and community engagement. Through our various programs, we enhance the learning experiences of students across Hawaiʻi by offering venues for relevant place-based initiatives. Our programs cater to all age groups, align with educational standards, and facilitate in-depth experiential learning.
Kualoa Ranch is the place where animals and paniolo unite in harmony! In our fun-filled “Animal Friends” adventure, keiki roll up their sleeves for some hands-on time with a delightful bunch of farm and ranch animals. We sprinkle love and care for our furry (and not-so-furry) friends while giving a peek into ranch life. Meet our fabulous cast of characters, including egg laying chickens, cuddly bunnies, cuddly cows, hungry goats, miniature horse, and so much more!
The Mōliʻi Fishpond offers a captivating opportunity to explore the principles of natural resource management and its significance in Hawaiʻi. Join us for a guided walk through the canoe plants, where you will discover the various resources they offer. Following this, enjoy a boat tour of the pond for an up-close view of the kuapā and mākāhā, essential components of the loko iʻa ecosystem. Experience the journey with us as we learn about marine life, traditional and modern aquaculture practices, and the sustenance that the loko iʻa provides.
The Ahupuaʻa experience offers an insightful exploration of the kula and kai sections of Hakipuʻu, highlighting the crucial role of sustainability through both traditional and contemporary practices. This journey emphasizes the importance of loʻi (taro fields), kahawai (streams), canoe plants, and kai (marine resources), all of which are integral to the sustenance of ahupuaʻa living.
Experience an adventure with Hāloa that caters to all ages! Keiki will have the opportunity to explore the concept of sustainability, focusing on the significance of kalo, wetland farming, and the essential role of water (wai). The journey begins with an exploration of the ahupuaʻa system, followed by engaging hands-on activities in a service project. Participants will then gain insights into the cultural importance of Hāloa in Hawaiʻi. Prepare to immerse yourself in learning and growth!
Our experiential keiki challenge programs are designed to promote self-discovery, self-confidence, leadership skills, cooperation, teamwork and more, all in a positive and fun environment.
