Kaʻaʻawa Ag Site

icon
Tucked between ocean views and emerald ridgelines, the Kaʻaʻawa Ag Site is a vibrant five-acre farmstead where livestock and crops grow side-by-side. This is one of Kualoa Ranch’s most productive agricultural areas. It’s a space where pasture-raised animals, food crops, and regenerative practices come together to support Hawaiʻi’s local food system.

Pasture-Raised Pork, Hens & More

The Kaʻaʻawa Ag Site is home to our pasture-raised pigs and free-range laying hens, who are rotated across open paddocks for both animal health and soil regeneration. You’ll also find a variety of small livestock here, including: sheep, turkeys, and rabbits. These animals contribute to both our market offerings and our educational programming, helping visitors understand the connections between animals, land, and food.

Banana, ‘Ulu, Taro & Dragon Fruit

Alongside the livestock, this site is planted with a dynamic mix of crops adapted to Kaʻaʻawa’s microclimate. From dryland taro and ʻulu (breadfruit) to dragon fruit and banana, these plants reflect Hawaiʻi’s cultural food heritage while contributing to our larger mission of local food security.

As a working farm within a visitor-facing ranch, the Kaʻaʻawa Ag Site plays a dual role. This site is one our highest yielding for fruit crops & is sparking conversations about what it means to grow food in Hawaiʻi, past and present.
